標你滿意，串聯Landmark路線！Landmark Spotting, An Iconic Route!

談地標主題，總是直接地與知名度畫上等號，你我大家甚至全世界都知道的所在，有著輝煌的故事與時間的意義，或是背後有一個了不起的人撐起地標格局。地標是城市的氣氛，也是城市的形象，但偉大地標與我們之間只有仰望、驚呼與通識的關係！？尺寸放小，其實每一次的媒婆出巡，設定的就是我們想法中的地標，地標串聯成為地圖，導引了我們想描述的故事。

Some landmarks are so famous that nearly everybody in the world knows about them and are familiar with their glorious stories, historical significances, or the incredible heroes behind the iconic monuments. A landmark could dictate the ambiance or image of its city, but are we only able to gaze up and marvel at these iconic monuments? Let’s scale back a bit and follow Mapper on defining our own landmarks, and by connecting them together, the map created just might lead to the formation of stories that we want to share.

【臺北文創大樓】

由日本建築家伊東豐雄(Toyo Ito)主導設計的臺北文創大樓，延續其最為人所知的流動性格，以弧線取代直線，採取不規則的形狀，讓工整方正的信義區，多了勇於不同的表情。複合了誠品書店及藝文表演廰，有時也到六樓參加大師講座，給自己一個週末，你可以在這一方天地，濃縮地擷取屬於台灣文化創意的縮影。

【台北101大樓】​

一千八百三十天，是台北101扛下「世界第一高樓」的光榮紀錄；1010m/m，是大樓電梯垂直上升的驚人速度。而今，它是世界上最高的綠建築，更曾被CNN票選為「改變人生的49個旅程之一」。一年365天，總有10秒，人們不看時鐘，而是跟著台北101報時。地標從來不是明文規定，而是約定成俗的默契。台北101或許挾著先天高富帥的優勢登場，但十餘年來的敦親睦鄰，才是真正成就非它不可的地標風景。

【好樣VVG】

位於忠孝東路四段181巷40弄與敦化南路161巷周邊，短短兩條小巷弄，以VVG為名的系列店家密集駐點，跨街廓的複合公式有書店、餐廳、選物店、裁縫和有機作物的展售，透過VVG Select的風格，我們看到的，是對家的美好想像。

【鳥籠】

我們總習慣，約朋友在東區見面，說一處地道的相約暗號，不論言語還是心靈。安全島上的公共藝術，面對著敦南誠品書店，飄散出淡淡的文青氣息。籠中的樹經過18年的圈禁，枝枒竄出圍欄，東區的詩意地標，捨它其誰。(photo by gloria)

【East District Landmarks 】Small landmarks make up for the coordinates of our everyday activities, and big landmarks define the space-time that we dwell in. 【Taipei New Horizon】

The Taipei New Horizon building is designed by Japanese architect, Toyo Ito, which showcases his signature style with fluid features and curvatures replacing straight lines. The building’s irregular shapes give the neatly squared urban composition of the Xinyi District a set of different and distinctive expressions. The building is home to an Eslite Bookstore branch and a performance hall, and seminars are often held on the 6th floor. Come and spend a weekend here, and enjoy a concentrated micro-view of unique Taiwanese culture and creativity.

【Taipei 101】​

Taipei 101 was once the World’s Tallest Building for a glorious 1830 days! Its elevators ascend at a staggering 1010m/min. The building is also the world’s current tallest green building, and it also made the list of CNN’s “49 journeys you'll never forget”. Ten seconds out of the 365 days each year, people will ditch their watches and follow the countdown at Taipei 101 to usher in the new year. To become a landmark is not something that is regulated by laws and orders; it is shaped by a sense of tacit communal understanding by the people. Perhaps, Taipei 101 has the natural advantages for its tall, handsome looks, but for over a decade, it has also made itself an amicable neighbor opening its doors to people from around the world, making it a truly iconic landmark.

【VVG】

Located near Alley 40, Lane 181, Section 4 of Zhongxiao East Road and Lane 161 of Dunhua South Road, VVG is a series of shops nestled in two short alleyways, including a bookstore, a restaurant, a select shop, a tailor and also displays and sales of organic produce. The style of VVG Select is seen in its different stores, sparking beautiful imaginations for the notion of “home”.

【Birdcage】

Locals have lingos that we use as rendezvous points with friends around the East District. For example, the birdcage public art located on the median strip facing Eslite Dunnan Branch is a preferred meeting spot for those that prefer a bit of intellectual, literary vibe. The tree inside this cage has been there for 18 years, with twigs and branches already poking out of the metal confinement around it. This birdcage is one of most iconic poetic landmark in the East District.(photo by gloria)
