內外兼具的完美平衡,夫妻為底的事業體,男主內,由Jimmy主理決策面,囊括資訊蒐集,財務經營與品牌定位;女主外,Irene統籌視覺、行銷與異業洽談,事必躬親。Jimmy 與Irene的夥伴關係好比混米,兩款風格各異的米種,穿插各自的口感、香氣、滋味,相互補足,彼此加分,混搭成最棒的特調。

★Boven 雜誌圖書館|當兵同袍

朝夕相處的軍旅生涯,讓Spencer與Ken建立如同家人的情誼,2004年,Ken在士林創立第一代複合店BOVEN,邀請Spencer負責地下室的唱片行。這段創業經驗,僅管只維持兩年,卻成為朋友之間續談至今的核心記憶,一路跟隨兩人分道運轉的人生。2010年,當愛書的Spencer油然而生「雜誌圖書館」的雛形,並在4年後,尋得近大安路、市民大道以南的地下室空間,幾乎同時,Spencer與Ken意外重逢,兩人決定以青春印記《BOVEN》為名,二度成為創業夥伴。

面對《BOVEN》雜誌圖書館,首先你得建立一個觀念:圖書館不是一種形式,而是一個概念。借閱與歸還、供給與需求、時效與經典;符合以上概念,呈現出來的圖書館樣貌,時而是咖啡店,時而像客廳,時而,又像co-working辦公室。

★秦家餅店|三代合夥

外婆、媽媽、外孫女,三代合夥,是血緣最深長的團隊組合。餅,曾經是澱粉的來源,像米飯一樣,做餅,是舊時代媳婦餵養家人的日常。傳承手藝,隨喜而至的心血來潮並不可靠,開一間店,老實待著,每天重覆練習,才是不二法門。史蒂芬.金說,「故事不是創作出來的,而是掬取現有的素材」。來自山東的秦家外婆,60歲那年決定創業,她的故事創作,從信手日常開始。

曾做過網路設計的孫女,負責處理網路訂單,平均每週回店裡一次,與媽媽匯整網路訂單。高齡93歲的外婆,堅持每天下午走路至二個巷口外的菜攤付清每天的食材費用,時而「督導」製餅,更多時候,坐在門口與客人聊天。 秦家餅店後院植栽樸實扶疏,雨後映照出悉心照料的色澤。談地段精華市儈了,她們只是剛好在這裡。30年的縮時攝影,附近高樓平地起,不變的是溫柔堅定持家的秦家女性身影。

★Café de Riz |MAN & WIFE

The couple behind Café de Riz brings to the shop a double dose of blissfulness, and the longer the shop opens, the better their relationship becomes and the tastier their rice gets. The shop’s name, Café de Riz, uses the Latin origin for the word rice, representing the passion that they have demonstrated since the beginning, with each bite of rice that hits just the right spot

Café de Riz can be deconstructed into basically the wife and husband duo. The husband is in charge of the back of the house, as he takes care of execution details, information collection, financial management, and brand positioning. The structure of this duo is analogous to mixing two different types of rice together, with their own unique texture, aroma, and flavor working in unison to compliment each other.

★Boven Magazine Library|COMRADES

Having spent day and night together while they served in the army, the bond between Spencer and Ken is like family. Ken started the first generation Boven in 2004 and invited Spencer to run its record shop at the basement. Although the business only lasted for two years, the two still talk about that period in time till this day with those memories held dearly. When Spencer came up with the idea of a “magazine library”, they decided to keep the name Boven that represents their youthful memories, and the two became business partners again.

The concept of the library is not a format here but a concept that entails borrowing and returning, provide and demand, offering time relevant materials and also classics. Working with these ideas, Boven functions like a library but it also sometimes feels like a coffee shop, a living room, or perhaps a co-working office.

★Qin Family Bakery|THREE GENERATIONS

A partnership of three generations makes up for this team of deep, long kinship. Pastry making is something almost every woman knew how to do in the old days. The traditional approach is not something that should be easily toyed with or altered lightheartedly. When the shop opens, every step involved needs to be taken seriously and practice makes perfect is the only way to go about it.

The mom is in charge of running the shop and quantity control. The granddaughter manages their online shop and helps with online orders every week. Granny Qin, who is 93 years old, still insists on walking down two alleyways to pay the vegetable vendor daily. She sometimes supervises the pastry making process, but most of the time nowadays, she enjoys sitting by the door to chat with their customers. Carefully cared for plants are found in the backyard of the Qin Family Bakery, with the plants glistening with vibrant colors whenever rain washes over the city. The district is in the city’s prime location, but the Qin family just happens to have made it home for the past 30 years. With tall buildings rising one after another, the gentleness that the women of the Qin family hold to care for their home has always stayed the same.
